01
Education and independence
In the Nordic model, academic effort builds gradually and early education often values curiosity, confidence, and social development
alongside results. That affects how teachers, feedback, and student responsibility are understood later as well.
02
Communication and language
Simpler and clearer language usually works better. Short sentences, direct questions, and one point at a time are often valued more
than formality or elaborate wording.
03
Rules, fairness, and common sense
Everyday situations such as queues, shared spaces, timing, and public behaviour often reflect deeper Nordic values around fairness,
equality, and trust in the system.
04
Social life and belonging
Nordic societies can initially feel reserved. That does not mean people are cold. It usually means relationships build more slowly,
through consistency, mutual respect, and clear boundaries.
